Multicultural Rosies
These are variations of an event logo I created for National Parks of Boston's annual event "Rosies Invade the Yard."
The "SWONs" (Shipbuilding Women of the Navy) came from all different ethic and cultural backgrounds. We wanted to honor that diverse heritage by making several variations of the logo. We have a "generic ancestry" version, as well as logos celebrating African-American, Asian-American, and Latina-American heritage of the women of Charlestown Navy Yard.
We primarily focused on different pulled-back hairstyles that would work if someone were working on board a ship. When possible, we matched the copy to the shirt color.
