Displaced - Logo
DISPLACED, a project by Shana M. Griffin, chronicles the institutionalization of spatial residential segregation, discriminatory housing practices, property-led development, and the violence of displacement in New Orleans.
This is a logo I put together for a new, interactive web project showcasing Shana's research (still in the works). Shana opted for a simpler type-only treatment for the project, but I had so much fun creating the illustrative elements here of traditional New Orleans architecture and the city skyline. It was interesting to try to depict ideas of displacement, absence, disappearance, and many of the social justice and environmental issues present at the intersection of housing and race.
