Fathers & Sons - Chapter 1

Kicking off a project to create and illustration for every chapter of Fathers & Sons.

These chapters are very short, so finding the right items to focus on is a challenge. A turquoise earring seems to be a symbol of the divide between generations in the book, or, the divide between fathers and sons.

In this chapter, a father awaits the arrival of his son. And he thinks about how his wife, who passed away ten years ago, is not alive to see her son come home with a degree.
