Vampire bat skull, take #2
Here's another revisit: the vampire bat skull I drew almost six years ago. At the time, I received some incredible feedback from the ever so talented Justin Kammerer, also known as Angryblue. He reminded me that drawing is about using lines to show where light meets shadows, and he sent me an edited version of my original drawing with more space left open for light areas. Taking this to heart, and still annoyed by that unfinished skull I posted earlier this week, I decided to go ahead and actually draw the highlights to refrain myself from cross-hatching all the things. I think it works better, even if the hatching has a looser quality to it than the first time around.
