Yangtze River Cruise

As a kid, one of my favorite books was The Story About Ping! It is about a "beautiful young duck named Ping" that lives on a boat on the Yangtze River "with his mother and father and two sisters and three brother and eleven aunts and seven uncles and forty-two cousins." I never imagined that I would one day visit the Yangtze River . . . let alone read this book to my kids while I was on a boat on the Yangtze River!!!

We boarded the President No. 7 cruise ship in Yichang, and then sailed up the Yangtze River for four days. Some of our favorite excursions included hiking to see the Tribe of the Three Gorges, riding in the pea pod boats up the Shennong Stream, and site-seeing at the Shibaozhai Pagoda.
