Personal Identity

After seeing prehistoric handprint paintings, I have always loved the handprint as a symbol and self-portrait. The handprint standing as the first visual representation of someone saying, "I am here" and "I exist".

My connection to this symbol also stems from my family's history and the ever prevalent "bear paws" that run within it.

For my personal identity, I wanted something that felt organic, handmade and whimsical—that speaks to the physical traits of myself and my predecessors, but also says "I am here" and "I make with these hands".

Constructive criticism always appreciated!
