What the Hell Happened to Darius Miles?

This is my entry for the @Underbelly Mock Madness contest. I saw a shot from @Joshua Blankenship where he mentioned designing around rad content from ESPN and I thought it was a great place to start. I ended up finding this article about Darius Miles from The Player's Tribune as my source for some fun editorial layout design.

This article was such a good read and was heartbreaking at points when he talks about the loss of his Mom. I was only planning to do a few pages but the story lead me do the entire article. I thought the Clippers color palette would be a solid color choice along with the combo of Din & Caslon.

I printed this at the Newspaper Club and they did a great job on this 12-page print piece.
