Let me tell you a story, folks. đź“–
I got a fantastic opportunity to work on a marketing landing page and also a web app for a lovely startup. I asked questions, made moodboards and got a pretty good idea about the style that they wanted to go for.
Well, I got it wrong.
The first landing page design I sent over was too girly and cutesy. My bad...
So I decided, instead of design-guessing again, to add an extra step and create a style board. Or design system. Or a style guide. Or a component library. Or... well... you know, that thing.
After I got it approved by my lovely clients, I went ahead and recreated the landing page very quickly. Sometimes, you have to do more work in order to do less work. Ya'know?
