Progressive Web Apps are considered to be very reliable, can load instantly and work offline, are much lighter and therefore faster, and can be very engaging because they can feel like a real app and have an immersive user experience.

Building a PWA at Yahoo's scale for millions of users was no easy task. A lot of re-architecture had to be done, design had to be kept simple and without 'heavy' bells and whistles, but the process was fun nonetheless. The team was able to reduce JS size by 69%, HTML by 48% and CSS by 76%, while still maintaining core features and a high bar for design.
