Automattic Design Meetup 2019

The Automattic design team recently gathered together in-person to work and collaborate together at the Automattic Design Meetup 2019. I had the pleasure of creating the event's design system.

The concept behind the work is driven by the meetup's location:
Scottsdale, AZ, USA. The expressive typography was inspired by mirages and heatwaves—what one might see as an illusion of the future. Furthering the concept of mirages, a lot of elements were repeated through out the posters layout, as well as from poster to poster. The systems colors are purposeful—relating to the quirky tones of the dessert and Scottsdale itself.

These materials were designed to delight. And they were received just as that!
