Evolution

Self initiated university project based on the word ‘Evolution’. A photocopy of a photocopy, enlarging sections and repeating, until the image was replicated fifty times resulting in unpredictable patterns. Twelve copies are shaped as butterflies and pinned on display; their varied wing patterns are also a visual display of errors, but through imperfect replication of DNA. Small changes lead to larger differences later on, a process known as the butterfly effect.

Whilst being exhibited at Kingston University degree show and the New Blood exhibition, the original photocopies were made available to the public to take and encouraged to use them to continue the evolutionary process.
