Louisville Identity

My main goal while designing this logo was to capture the spirit of Louisville by using iconic symbols that represent the city in an honest fashion. Represented within the crest is a fleur de lis, a racing horseshoe, and two crossed Louisville Slugger baseball bats. The upper hemisphere of the crest is made up of a steamboat wheel which honors the Belle of Louisville while the lower hemisphere's outline is drawn as the top of a bourbon barrel.
