Vampire Weekend Album Cover Re-design

Here's my stab at this weeks dribbble weekly warm-up (re-design a favorite album cover of your choice).

Vampire Weekend has been one of my favorite bands for the last decade or so! Their latest album in particular was a heavy critique on an angry society, while also exploring the good and evil that battle inside of us all on a regular basis. He makes a subtle reference to the snake in the garden, and that was a visual cue that I decided to run with. Let me know what you think!

I've also attached my original idea sketch. I played with the actual colors from the album cover for the sketch and then decided to muddy them up into more earth tones as that's my usual palette. I also intentionally made the illustration a bit chaotic with a lot going on, so that you might miss things on the first glance. But once you come back to it again, you'll start to see more and more details. I feel like that was my experience with listening to this album.
