The Garden State

I love my home state but sometimes it makes me feel claustrophobic and overwhelmed.

I love maps so I am doing an illustration series trying to capture the vibe of a place within its borders.

New Jersey is the most densely populated state in the country. It’s sandwiched between two of the largest cities in the country. You can be driving on a major highway that bisects a major highway all while being parallel to another highway. There’s way more to NJ its roadways, but it’s hard not to tell the story of the state without mentioning the infrastructure that carves up its landscape.
