Another exploration of overlaid flat shapes in watercolor, covered in colored pencil for textures.

Zone colored pencil applications, on top of watercolor, on the flimsy paper. The paper dries weird, the colors mix into each other, and the textures are divine.
I imagine buildings upon buildings upon buildings upon buildings.
This one explores some different things:
- A corner building going in two directions
- A pencil application in zones, like the ones I explored at the beginning, with the Organic III piece
- Making a small, 5"x7", piece, on my large 11"x...
This one is the first large scale one—11"x14". Most of the other ones are 5"x7". It's also fancy pants, heavy watercolor paper, with thick grain, and it really bites into the colored pencils. The resulting textures can be really lovely, ...
