Mill City Church Brand Refresh

Planted in Northeast Minneapolis 15 years ago, Mill City Church has had a monumental year. Having met in a public school since its inception, leaders at MCC were approached by leaders of Elim Church—a 135-year-old congregation—about an “adoption merger.”

After a period of discernment, both congregations voted to approve the merger early in 2023, which meant Elim members became part of MCC, and MCC took ownership of Elim’s historic building on the corner of 13th Ave. and Madison St. as its new permanent home.

We worked with leaders at MCC to update the brand’s visual identity to include a greater variety of logo variations designed to reflect the neighborhood’s industrial roots. Building on the new logo system, we created new branding for Mill City Kids and Youth, and we worked with building staff to update signage and environmental design throughout the building, often leaning into shapes found throughout the architecture of the church.

Here’s a few of the highlights.
