Celtics 'Different Here' Lettering

It has been a real honor to design the new @celtics slogan for this season, “Different Here.” Their culture is different, their standard of success is different, and the place they call home – both inside and outside the TD Garden walls – has a different atmosphere than any other NBA destination.With a variety of old Celtics’ ads and apparel to pull for inspiration, there was one example that stood out the most. Displayed on slide 3, the script in a 1950’s NBA radio guide exhibited the unique heritage we were looking for. The forms evoke a feeling of fluidity, rhythm, and speed just like how the players work together on the court. With our mark being heavily informed by this style, the end result was both parts fresh and historic. Since its public appearance, it has been such a delight to see the fans share and wear this mark as a representation of their team.
