Rooster

Over the course of the past few weeks, I’ve been rediscovering my love of line work and more specifically how that relates to working exclusively in black and white. All of that has had me stumbling into to the wonderful world of woodcuts and I can’t get enough of them! I created this illustration digitally although I did so using the same general process of wood engraving—cutting in the highlights rather than starting on white and inking in the shadows. I’m excited to do more with this and to actually try my hand at the real deal soon. More to come!
