Project #28

I knew I wanted to create something very personal this week and decided to focus on making a self-portrait. I used my fingerprint patterns – the single most unique characteristic of a person's identity – as the main element in the illustration. To create dimension in my face I manipulated the space between the lines as needed to create the highlights and shadows. I chose a vibrant gradient of color to help elevate the illustration from the typical black and white fingerprinting we are all so accustomed to seeing.
