Handoff (handoffai.com) is a new mobile & web app for the $500 billion market of remodeling contractors in the US. We use generative AI technology to provide Remodelers a fast, accurate, and intuitive way to create construction cost estimates in minutes. There are 600,000+ contractors in the US who could be the Users of Handoff and we're looking for teammates as passionate as we are to help us win this market.
Handoff is developed by 1build, a venture-backed technology company with origins in Silicon Valley. 1build has established itself as the market leader for construction pricing data and integrations with the top construction materials suppliers. The team at 1build is distributed worldwide and comes from top technology companies such as Apple, Tesla, and WeWork.
As our first full-time designer, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the design culture and processes within our organization. You will work closely with our product management and engineering teams to create intuitive, visually appealing, and user-centered designs that drive engagement and user satisfaction.
As a Senior Product Designer at our company, you will:
Own the end-to-end design process, from ideation to final implementation, for our mobile and web products.
Conduct user research to gain insights into user needs, behaviors, and pain points, and translate these findings into actionable design solutions.
Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups using Figma.
Collaborate with product managers to define product requirements, prioritize features, and create product roadmaps.
Work closely with engineers to ensure design feasibility, provide design specifications, and incorporate their feedback into the design process.
Establish and maintain design systems, style guides, and UI libraries to ensure consistency across our products.
Continuously iterate on designs based on user feedback, analytics, and usability testing.
Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, technologies, and best practices, and apply them to our products.
About You:
Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience designing successful mobile and web products.
Strong portfolio showcasing your UX and UI design skills.
Proficiency in Figma and project management software like Linear.
Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, information architecture, and interaction design.
Experience conducting user research, usability testing, and analyzing user data.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically about product design.
Attention to detail and the ability to quickly pivot to meet evolving customer needs.
Nice to Have:
Experience working in a startup environment.
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Experience in website design for Webflow.
Experience with brand design for marketing assets.
