Product Designer

We’re Hiring for an Experienced Product Designer!

In the Product Designer role, you will be responsible for the execution of the UX and UI Design Processes across Android, iOS and Web applications. Creating, communicating and ensuring delivery of client design goals as well as reporting and delivering score card objectives.  

Location: Reigate, United Kingdom. Travel to other locations and customer sites as needed.

Salary: Competitive

Contract: Hybrid, Full-time. 2 days per week in the Reigate office.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week around core hours of 10:00-16:00

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work independently to execute design deliverables from conception to product launch and beyond. 

  • Plan and structure effective user research through interviews and focus groups. 

  • Use data-driven design to solve user problems, knowing what data is needed to make the right decisions. 

  • Create and analyse user journey maps, breakdown large Information architectures into small and comprehensible deliverables. 

  • Create prototypes of the appropriate fidelity to test designs. 

  • Use established usability & visual principles and guidelines to predict likely problems in user interfaces, constructing both intuitive & creative interfaces. 

  • Create animations & micro interactions to enhance the user experience. 

  • Build and maintain design systems for each of our clients products 

  • Collaborate with product strategists and operations to define and implement innovative solutions. 

  • Effectively communicate with Developers, Project Managers & QAs the design expectations during handover meetings, contributing to a seamless information flow between all teams. 

  • Aware of design budgets & deadlines, knowing how and when to adapt to suit client requirements.  

  • Present and promote designs and key milestone deliverables to peers, clients and other stakeholders, explaining complex theory to non-technical audiences. 

Qualities and skills 

ESSENTIAL

  • Excellent communicator with strong client focus. 

  • Lives our values and is able to demonstrate our behaviours.  

  • Proven UI experience and able to demonstrate UI design skills with a strong portfolio.

  • Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction.

  • Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.

  • Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies.

  • Experience using Sketch, Figma, Abstract and Adobe Creative Cloud.

  • Knowledge of psychological UX principles, theories & laws and how to apply them. 

  • Able to prioritise workload and manage deadlines.

  • Keen interest in UX trends and innovations.

  • Self-motivated and open to feedback and development. 

  • Client facing & Presentation skills.

DESIRABLE

  • Knowledge of iOS, Android & web native patterns is advantageous.

  • Knowledge of Lottie Animation is advantageous.

EDUCATION

  • Degree in Product Design/Experience Design or equivalent relevant experience.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Experience as a designer, ideally managing multiple projects and stakeholders.  

  • Experience designing websites and mobile apps for iOS and Android. 

  • Experience in a fast-paced environment.
