Product Designer

About VacationRenter

VacationRenter is a vacation rental search engine. We love vacation rentals, but not how time-consuming and complex it can be to find the right one. So we reimagined a better way. We bring all the rental options from the leading travel sites together in one place and showcase only the best results — saving time and reducing stress for travelers who are looking for the perfect place to stay.

VacationRenter was born inside Wilbur Labs, a San Francisco-based startup studio. Founded by ex-Googlers, VacationRenter uses automation and AI to help travelers find the perfect vacation rental.

About this Role

As a Product Designer at VacationRenter, you’ll be a key contributor to the core parts of the product — initially focusing on our high-conversion search results page.

You will work side-by-side with a product manager, engineers, and a lead designer to implement solutions that are valuable to the users, build up the brand, and meet the company’s business objectives.

What you’ll do

  • Work closely with engineering and product to design and implement new product features
  • Iterate on current product features with A/B variants
  • Execute designs that account for technical & time constraints, edge cases, and design system consistency
  • Collaborate with a lead designer to implement a unified design system that elevates the brand across the product

What we’re looking for

  • 4+ years of experience as a UI/UX designer for web and mobile app products
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating relevant experience and a clean, simple approach to UI
  • Efficiency with Figma
  • Experience taking projects from research/discovery to shipping and iteration
  • Ability to communicate clearly, accept and iterate on design feedback, and work collaboratively with all stakeholders to deliver the best design possible
  • Show strong empathy for the end-user and have a desire to create great products

Preferred qualifications

  • Prior experience at a startup or travel company
  • Experience designing for a B2C product
  • Strong visual design and branding skills
