Emergency-Alerts

Some emergencies such as natural disasters threaten everyone. That's why emergency alerts are now integrated right into Maps. When an emergency occurs near you, Maps notifies you and shows you the affected regions, if possible. Thanks to Apple's collaboration with countries and institutions at various levels, you get concrete and detailed information about the development of local situations, and practical instructions about what you can do (if possible) before, during and after an emergency.
Possible threats include: Heavy rain and hail, storms, floods and tsunamis, hurricanes and tropical cyclones, earthquakes, conflagration and wild fires, biological hazards (e.g. viruses), terrorist attacks and manhunts, evacuations (e.g. bomb disposal) and other emergencies (e.g. volcano eruption).
