Squirrel Cage Edison Bulb

Seeing all of the fantastic insplore work by @Axel Herrmann, I wanted to take a shot at making a neat lightbulb in 3D. I decided to do an Edison style bulb with a Squirrel Cage filament on it. I went with copper internals and screw to make it feel special, a little aged as it were.

Not entirely happy with the specular and reflections currently, they need work. Working with just the internal filament lighting the scene produced some interesting results, but the light passing through the glass textures caused some spotting shadows and GI errors, so I used a key and fill. Textures need to be finessed a bit, its a WIP render.

Maybe i'll even build a nifty little crane on the side. :)
