Early Childhood Education Illustrations

Balancing geometric shapes with organic, child-like drawings, I had so much fun exploring these illustration concepts for a website homepage I designed for a client specializing in early childhood development. Education is such an important building block for communities & equality and we need to focus on providing that for ALL kids early on.

On a personal note about learning, this project helped me conquer a few hurdles — mainly my fears of web design. I don’t ever call myself a web designer. And yet, reflecting back a few years, I would have never called myself an illustrator (to be honest, most days I’m still awkward about calling myself that too). But all pages start blank. Each day we have a chance to play, discover, and write new stories and what the characters in that tale can do. Be proud of your growth. Learn new things. As designers, I know we are plagued with good ol’ fashioned imposter syndrome. That we can never do anything until we are 100% good at it. But sometimes it takes a job you don’t say no to and a strong support system to push you forward and change how you look at yourself. Embracing discomfort leads to change — whether that is personal, professional, or societal. So much of the world tries to hold us down and tries to define us. Don’t hold yourself down too. Keep working hard, fighting for change, and always be learning.
