In many ways, Huckleberry Finn is the epitome of the boy hero. He loves mischief and relishes danger. The hardships of his life (being nearly murdered by his drunken father, faking his death to escape said father, and then fleeing down the Mississippi) are coolly recounted as thrilling adventures.
