Reykjavík Place Branding Exploration

Another piece from my time in Full Sail University’s Media Design, MFA degree program. This piece is one of three place brand directions developed for the city of Reykjavík, Iceland. Created to personify the strength and stability of Reykjavík’s tradition, this brand concept connects the old-world with the modern through the use of energetic, warm hues and contrasting tranquil blues. The tattered-edge aesthetic represents the city’s long-standing Nordic history and compliments the stylized typography and strong runic-inspired logo. Photography highlights the traditional yet bold buildings found throughout the city, enduring iconic locales, and youthful personalities.

For 2021, I'm going to do my best to share something I've created each day. Sometimes, it'll be something I created that day, other times it might be something from my archives. Occasionally, it might be a story, or simply something I'm genuinely enjoying and feel like sharing what it is and why I like it so much.

Honestly, I'm not sure where this 365 project will go, but I'm working on convincing myself that it's okay to not know. There's something to be said for simply sharing and seeing what happens.
