Sankofa Bird Symbol

Sankofa is a word in the Akan Twi and Fante languages of Ghana that translates to "retrieve" and also refers to the Bono Adinkra symbol represented with a stylized bird with its head turned backwards while its feet face forward - Symbol of importance of learning from the past. SANĀ  (return), KOĀ Ā (go), FAĀ (look, seek and take).
