For a while now we have been trying to optimise not only design but also SEO of the search results landing pages. With this new design, we want to display more relevant information to the user when they search for a lawyer, but also give to Google all the indexing information it needs to rank our page properly.
Having the location filter supported in the search results has proved to be the most relevant solution from our AB testing on the site. Users tends to want to see a general result, and then eventually filter down with a specific location. Moreover, the need for a "local" lawyer has largely decreased since the pandemic more than ever, and this has become less of a priority for users to find a lawyer located in the same city than them and to visit him/her.
