Wavey - gesture based HMI in-car system

An in-car interface that uses gestures to control on-board functions.

Gesture control HMI - based on two screens

Do you need touch in the car?

Modern cars are equipped with an increasing number of touch screens. Studies in Sweden have proven that their operation reduces driver safety. More and more of the time the driver is not looking at the road, but at the screens inside the car. This is because it is impossible to point a finger at a button on the screen if you are not looking at it. We hypothesized at Spyro-Soft that a gesture-controlled system would be a far better solution, from the point of view of driver safety. That's why we developed the concept of an in-car interface, where we combine a large screen with a tablet, which has two modes of operation - gesture control and classic touch-operated controls. The system is developed so that while driving, the driver uses simple and familiar gestures. He doesn't have to take his eyes off the road, and can easily change the temperature, song or audio volume. More complicated functions, such as planning a destination, he operates with buttons on a tablet, but eventually it would also use a voice assistant. The complete solution will give full functionality and ensure greater driver safety.
