Don't Mistake Injury For Identity.

It’s easy to get lost in the echo of a vicious cycle and not realize it. Through words, how people treat us, and things that happen to us is how we accumulate injuries. These injuries shape us and sometimes those poison things become part of who we are. They come out in our words, and actions and they become the lens we see life through. We use those things against ourselves and other people and the cycle continues. I want to believe that we don’t have to become the sum of our injuries, but it’s easier. We can just blame other people for the way we are. It’s difficult to even recognize these things about ourselves and its arduous work to dig yourself out of an avalanche of a lifetime of damage.
