Creative Lettering — Do Things That Don't Scale (02/ 07)

Paul Gharam in one of his interviews told us his secret of making startups succeed, Do things that don't scale.

He advised doing a personal effort for each early client. His principle contradicts brand-new founders' tendency. Brand-New founders consider any personal effort a don't-scale action like building great products.

How Does Paul Gharam's Principle Work?

By making personal efforts to delight each customer, we create a base of satisfied clients. (= dots in the design)

By executing this principle in huge numbers, we find we've enlarged the base (= crafted the word SCALE in dots).

Until we get to the moment where the base is strong enough to build a skyscraper. (the dots started to connect together to refer to the word "Scale")

Behind The Scene

You'll never find two identical dots.

I did that intentionally with pen and paper to symbolize accurately what personal efforts mean.
