Project Outline
The client was trying to create a new brand look that embodies a new modern, fresh, young, clean look with a sustainable effect.
The client also mentioned that the logo needs to portray the ideas of Solar (sun), home, and 3 elements coming together (representing the 3 companies merging).
The client (dynamicslr) is the fastest-growing local residential solar company in Texas. They strive to build opportunities one position at a time for those that work with them while saving their customer on their energy bills and leaving a positive impact on the planet.
Explorations and Playgrounds
The best logo always comes from explorations and playgrounds. Creativity needs to have room for unlimited experiments without any fear of faults. This always happened to all of my projects. That's how I as the designer expand any possibilities that creativity might go.
The below explorations and playgrounds shot only show several sketches and unused vector graphics. The true explorations and playgrounds were dustier and messier. But hopefully, this can get you a picture that a great final logo concept always comes from the ground where the designer is playing around.
Playgrounds to Refinements
There were several potential logo concepts coming from the playgrounds that could become the logo options. The logo concepts were refined several times. The gallery below shows how the refinements went in general.
Logo Options
Long story short, the client decided to go with the shape of a house with 3 sun rays on the left corner as the logo mark. Then, logtypes issues started to begin.
Logotypes
Logotype became something that the client was concerned about. It needs to give the audience a hint that dynamicslr is 'Dynamic' and 'SLR'. The below explains how the logotype was eventually finalized.
