YE Nesting Doll
The nesting doll concept in my project holds layered symbolism, reflecting the unfolding depth of artistic meaning. While nesting dolls are often associated with specific cultures, here they carry a universal essence, transcending cultural boundaries.
I found an old toy in a junk shop with six nesting dolls of different sizes. It was a perfect match since Kanye has six albums that mean a lot to me. This toy gave me the idea to create art in a style influenced by artists like Kazimir Malevich, using simple shapes and bold designs.
I was also inspired by Takashi Murakami and George Condo's work, which fits well with Kanye's early album covers.
