Designing Adaptive Accessories

For the disabled, augmenting objects to fit their needs isn’t about innovation, it’s about surviving a world designed against them. Nowhere else is that more understood than in our Inclusive Design Lab, the space which we’ve been designing adaptive accessories for our devices for the past 9 years –– creating accessory kits like the Surface Adaptive Kit and more 🧑‍💻.

While this work is informed by our Inclusive Design principles, as hardware designers, the team has a unique set of questions and guidelines they follow to create one-size-fits-one solutions for users. Today on the blog, we’re sharing a first look at an inclusive design toolkit for hardware, "Devices + Accessories + Augmentations."
