In this project, we embarked on the exciting task of completely transforming the search component of our site, focusing on user experience and technical efficiency. From the interface to enhanced functionalities, every detail was carefully rethought to provide our users with a faster, more intuitive, and personalized search experience.
In the initial stage, we worked diligently on creating detailed wireframes that captured the essence of the new search experience. We explored various design options for each element, from date selection to the layout of shortcut buttons. This phase was crucial to establish the foundation of an attractive and functional design.
To ensure our redesign was at the forefront of the industry, we conducted an exhaustive benchmarking study. We analyzed the best practices of competitors and examined emerging trends in search design in the travel industry. This analysis allowed us to identify key opportunities to improve and differentiate our search component.
In addition to visual transformation, we delved into technical improvements to ensure exceptional performance. Optimizing the component's loading time not only enhances search speed, but also significantly contributes to a smoother and more efficient experience for our users.
One of the standout features is the advanced personalization of the component. Now, the destination field suggests cities based on the user's origin, streamlining the search process. Furthermore, we learn from user preferences to suggest anticipated routes, enhancing the efficiency and relevance of searches.
Following the launch, we implemented a meticulous tracking strategy using Mixpanel. The metrics revealed valuable data about user acceptance, improved conversion rates, and usage frequency. The ability to prefill previous routes has proven to be especially effective, providing a faster and more personalized experience.
Our search widget featured across various bus brands, each distinguished by their unique colors. This demonstrates its seamless integration into diverse environments.
