Challenge
When I arrived at Kolecto, I was faced with the challenge of designing a cash management system from scratch. This task was crucial as Kolecto didn't have any system in place to effectively manage its cash flow. In collaboration with a project manager, we embarked on a methodical approach to co-conceptualize this system. We started by conducting in-depth interviews with internal stakeholders to understand the specific needs and challenges of the company regarding cash management. Concurrently, we analyzed cash management practices among our competitors to draw insights and identify industry best practices.
Analysis and Improvements
Through our user-centric approach and industry best practices, we were able to develop a comprehensive vision of what our cash management system should be. This vision took into account Kolecto's specific needs while drawing inspiration from effective solutions observed among our competitors. To materialize this vision, we created an initial simplified iteration of the system, focusing on essential features necessary to ensure accurate tracking of cash flows and financial transactions. This initial version allowed us to lay the groundwork for the system and gather initial feedback from users and internal stakeholders.
