Shot 080 - VU Meter

Today's challenge is a volume unit meter that displays volume output against a defined controller. There's a couple of things going on here – the volume slider allows you to control output which is currently set to 0dB, and pushing that sound over that value will result in distortion (hence the orange gradient). There's also a waveform at the back that displays the wave data across low, mid and high frequencies, and the white gradient in the background shows the actual dB output against the bar in the form of a subtle gradient. Think of this like a speedometer needle that moves in a semi-circle, tracking the audio output against the bar in the foreground.

Enjoyed making this one, and though I'm sure I could have reconciled the needle with the bar in a more obvious way I liked the result. There's a lot of info shown but I think the balance would make sense in a real interface. Maybe more explanation than required on dribbble, but nevermind!

@2x. Thoughts welcome.
