Discovery Limited Smart Plan

I was excited to be part of an awesome team given the task of creating a new, innovative Medical Aid Plan for Discovery Limited.

The Smart Plan is a new medical aid plan that is completely digital and uses self-service features for a person to use and maintain their plan independently.

Processes applied:

We identified the kind of users that this medical aid plan would potentially target by conducting extensive user research through user interviews, surveys and user testing. Following principles identified in our user research allowed us to create personas and user journeys which led to a cost-effective and valuable medical aid plan. 

Introduced and implemented a new look and feel of the Android and iOS app in parallel with this project. Using a user-centred design thinking approach with developers assisted in the motivation of converting the current workflows into a digital space.

Was quite an experience and we were able to launch this product which is being used by millions of South Africans every day.
