Since I was a teenager, I've had a small bed-side fan just like this one. One day my son decided to stick a pencil in it, in between the guard and into the blades. A loud, metallic, TINK sound followed and my son ran out of the room followed by a small flurry of dust.

I said to my wife, "that's not safe air space," laughing smugly like only a dad making an awesome pun could. Then! Aha! That could be a fun logo, and here you have it.
