Buena Vista Social Club
Poster created for my Visual Communication class. The assignment objective was to develop a poster for any musical genre or band only utilizing typography, colors, and geometric shapes as visual elements.
To achieve the assignment goal I chouse the Cuban band; Buena Vista Social Club, an icon of the Latin music scene to be represented in the poster.
The main visual language is based on the aesthetic of handmade paints common way for small business to advertise their work in Latin America. The typography is bold, rounded and on capital letters to represent the brush used on the walls and colors are based on the Cuban flag.
