Glimpse Welcome Screen

This is the welcome screen for Glimpse - a fork of the GNU Image Manipulation Program.

There's a myth that one cannot create complex software without having a menu bar. I seek to debunk that myth, starting with the very first thing you do in a photo editing software - open a project.

I looked at GNOME Builder - a fully fledged IDE - for inspiration on turning GIMP's menu bar sections and file creation process into something coherent and accessible.

One thing I took issue with when using GIMP is that there was no visual indication for what file you were opening. You could also end up selecting the wrong file from the tiny, cramped menu. With large click targets and previews for the images, both of these issues should be eliminated. Search also allows you to see every project you've ever opened in Glimpse without being overwhelmed by a huge menu.
