What's new with Dribbble's Hang Time NYC? Here's the low down

Mark your calendars, folks! Dribbble’s Hang Time NYC is right around the corner. In less than five weeks, our design conference is set to hit the stage at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC and we couldn’t be more excited. Hundreds of designers will come together for one full day of inspiration, learning, and career growth on Thursday, June 6—and we want to see you there.

With the conference approaching quickly, we’re excited to announce even more updates to our speaker list, activities, and more. Tickets are going fast so make sure to purchase one today!

Who’s speaking?

The cat’s out of the bag—we’re welcoming even more design all-stars to the main stage this year! Joshua Davis, Sophia Chang, Paul Budnitz, Kelli Anderson, and David Carson (to name only a few) are cooking up some extra special talks aimed to help you grow as a creative.

In addition to new speakers, we’ve invited some other familiar faces to lead cozy fireside chats and more intimate conversations in our smaller Breakout Rooms. Learn more about creating design merch on the side from the Hood sisters, Justin Mezzell, and Lisa Champ. Or, hear from Ryan Putnam and Alice Lee as they tag-team a chat—while drawing live—during Creativity in Conversation. Whatever you’re into, you get to curate your day so you get the most out of your Hang Time experience.

What’s on the agenda?

At Hang Time, we’re committed to presenting high-quality content. Not only do we have great talks in store, but this year we’re also including more intimate hands-on activities like fireside chats, design workshops, and Q&A sessions with some of your favorite designers.

Kick the day off with Design, Coffee, and Careers, an informal hour-long session where creative leads and hiring managers from design-forward NYC companies will field questions on all things leveling up your career (coffee is on us!). Once you’ve got your caffeine fix and your burning career questions answered, head over to the main stage for some motivating morning talks or check out one of our three breakout rooms for more intimate sessions and conversations with your favorite creative practitioners.

What kind of topics will be covered? Check out the full schedule here and start planning out your day. Here’s a little sneak peek of what we’ve got planned:

What about workshops?

Listening to talks is great, but we hear you—it’s also nice to be a part of the action. For more hands-on learning experiences, we’ve got two workshops scheduled brought to you by none other than product designer Matt D. Smith and lettering artist Danielle Evans.

Are you looking to refine and improve your design process? Then you might want to check out Matt D. Smith’s live design case study as he tackles a client design project from start to finish. Or, maybe illustration and lettering is more your thing. In that case, you’ll want to join acclaimed tactile lettering artist Danielle Evans for her Intro to Dimensional Typography workshop.

These workshops have limited spaces so if you’re interested in participating, make sure to purchase your workshop ticket before they sell out!

Did someone say after-party?

That’s right! It wouldn’t be Hang Time without an incredible after-party to finish off a day of inspiration and learning. Grab a drink, munch on some snacks, mingle with fellow creatives, and check out our vendor village where you can purchase tons of goods directly from their creators. Check out the full list of vendors here and get excited to walk away with some memorable merch.

Access to the after-party is included with your Hang Time ticket so we hope you stick around to hang with the Dribbble team, speakers, and fellow creatives!

Hang Time NYC would not be possible without the generous support of our MVP sponsors, Invision and Metalab, our All-star sponsor, Overflow, and our Panel sponsors, Upwork and Bonsai. Additionally, we’d like to thank our friends at Real Thread, Topodesigns, Big Cartel, Domain.me, Skillshare, StickerMule, BentoBox, Hoefler & Co., Fiverr, And.co, Sketch, Underbelly, and Facebook for their support.

We’re looking forward to meeting you all. Grab your ticket to Hang Time today and get ready for a full day’s worth of quality time with your creative community.
